Biography

Ali Hassan Jadallah is a Palestinian photojournalist who has documented life in the Gaza Strip for over 13 years. His work captures both the immediacy of conflict and the resilience of daily life, providing a visual record of the region’s ongoing struggles. He has covered three Israeli wars on Gaza, delivering powerful imagery that reflects the human impact of war.

Beyond conflict, Jadallah explores the everyday realities of Gaza, portraying the strength and perseverance of its people. His ability to document unfolding events with speed and accuracy has established him as a leading photographer in the region.

Jadallah earned a Diploma in Multimedia from the University College of Applied Sciences in Gaza in 2010, enhancing his storytelling through various media formats. His work has been widely recognized, earning numerous awards including from Anadolu Agency, the Sharjah Photo Contest, the Doha Center for Media Freedom, the Independent Commission for Human Rights, and Arab Camera 48. In 2024, his coverage of the Gaza war earned him the Best Photo award from Anadolu Agency.

Photos: Gaza Under Israeli Attack

Israel continued its war on Gaza throughout 2024, leaving much of it in ruins. The UN reports more than 60% of homes have been destroyed and 95% of hospitals are non-functional. Nearly two million people have been displaced amid acute shortages of food, clean water, and medicines, due to Israeli restrictions.

With international journalists effectively barred from Gaza, local photographers risked their lives to document the war. The photographer, who has also lost family members, says: “Every time I photograph a destroyed house, I remember mine. Every time the wounded and martyred are pulled from the rubble, I remember my father and siblings.
