EVENTO LANCIO DEL PROGETTO ”INNOVATION BRIDGE TRIESTE-DUBAI 2020”
Trieste, 8 Maggio 2018 - UNIDO ITPO Italy e la Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia stanno proseguendo la loro ormai consolidata strategia di collaborazione con il lancio di un nuovo progetto denominato “Innovation Bridge Trieste – Dubai 2020”. Tale iniziativa prevede un ampio programma di attività volte a collegare la Regione a Expo Dubai 2020“Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. Più nello specifico il progetto si propone di creare un network di innovatori regionali, nazionali ed internazionali provenienti da industrie e istituti di ricerca in ambito tecnologico, sia pubblici che privati, al fine di individuare idee innovative per uno sviluppo economico inclusivo e sostenibile. Il progetto, dunque, favorendo l’incontro tra il mondo della ricerca e quello del business internazionale permetterà di valorizzare e convogliare in un unico contenitore diverse esperienze e competenze facilitando così la realizzazione di soluzioni condivise a problemi comuni.
Inoltre, con riferimento alla fase operativa del progetto, una particolare attenzione sarà data alle opportunità per i giovani, principali attori di un futuro che promette importanti miglioramenti tecnologici e molteplici sfide che creeranno nuove necessità e nuovi lavori, a partire dalla digitalizzazione.
Al lancio del progetto hanno partecipato diversi attori regionali, tra cui l’Università di Trieste, Area Science Park, OGS, Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e Geofisica e SISSA - Scuola Internazionale Superiore di Studi.
A questi attori verrà fornito uno spazio aperto allo scambio ed al dibattito per condividere le loro conoscenze, idee, intuizioni sui temi comuni rilevanti a EXPO 2020 Dubai (Mobilità, Opportunità e Sostenibilità), co-creando una prospettiva multi-disciplinare sugli argomenti sia per gli esperti coinvolti che per il pubblico. Gli eventi hanno il potenziale di creare spazio per innovazioni e porre le basi per collaborazioni nel breve e nel lungo termine tra questi attori. Il contenuto e i risultati di questi eventi saranno conseguentemente rielaborati e condivisi da UNIDO ITPO Italy attraverso una piattaforma digitale per la durata del progetto ed infine nel contesto di EXPO 2020 Dubai.
Sotto tale profilo il progetto risulta pienamente in linea con il mandato di UNIDO ITPO Italy. L’Ufficio, infatti, nutre la profonda convinzione che la promozione delle opportunità di collaborazione e il trasferimento di tecnologie e know-how nel campo imprenditoriale costituiscano fattori centrali nel favorire non solo il miglioramento delle tecniche produttive, ma anche la diffusione delle innovazioni su scala globale. Agire in tal senso significa compiere un passo importante verso il conseguimento degli Obiettivi di Sviluppo Sostenibili dell’Agenda 2030 delle Nazioni Unite, faro imprescindibile che anima da sempre l’azione di UNIDO ITPO Italy.
LAUNCH EVENT OF THE PROJECT ”INNOVATION BRIDGE TRIESTE-DUBAI 2020”
Trieste, 8 May 2018 - UNIDO ITPO Italy and Friuli Venezia Region are nurturing their consolidated collaboration strategy with the launch of a new project, named: “Innovation Bridge Trieste – Dubai 2020”. This initiative envisages a wide spectrum of activities aimed at linking the Region with Expo Dubai 2020 “Connecting Minds, Creating the Future”. More specifically, the project is expected to create a network of regional, national and international innovators from industries and both private and public research institutes in order to identify innovative ideas for an inclusive and sustainable economic development.
Therefore, by spurring the matching between the academic and the international business worlds, it will be possible to bring together in a comprehensive framework different expertise and skills, thus facilitating the achievement of shared solutions to common problems.
Furthermore, with regards to the operational phase, a peculiar attention will be paid to the opportunities for young people. Indeed, they represent crucial actors of a future which is very likely to provide significant technological improvements to address new needs and challenges, thus requiring new and highly-qualified workers, starting from the ongoing digitalization process.
Many actors have participated at the launch of the project, namely the University of Trieste, Area Science Park, OGS, (National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics) and SISSA, the International School for Advanced Studies.
Such actors will be provided with their own space to discuss and share their knowledge and ideas regarding the relevant issues of EXPO 2020 (Mobility, Opportunity and Sustainability), thus co-creating a multidisciplinary perspective extremely beneficial both for the experts involved and the general public.
The events have the promising potential to create room for innovation and setting the preconditions for future collaboration both in the short and long term. The content and results of these events will be shared by UNIDO ITPO Italy through a digital platform during the entire project’s lifespan and ultimately exposed in the context of EXPO 2020 Dubai.
In the light of the aforementioned objectives and means, the project seems to be perfectly in line with UNIDO ITPO Italy’s mandate. The Office is profoundly convinced that promoting collaboration opportunities and technology and know-how transfer at the entrepreneurial level can play a key role not only to improve productivity, but also to spread innovation globally. As a result, acting in this sense means taking a decisive step forward towards the achievement of the 17 global objectives of the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda, UNIDO ITPO Italy’s vital beacon.
