Missione preparatoria di UNIDO ITPO Italy in Iran
Teheran/Isfahan, 21-28 gennaio 2017. UNIDO ITPO Italy ha svolto una missione preparatoria nella Repubblica Islamica dell’Iran con l’obiettivo di preparare e lanciare la fase iniziale del progetto di “Supporto alle PMI in Iran attraverso la promozione degli investimenti e trasferimento tecnologico in energia e ambiente”. UNIDO ITPO Italy è l’agenzia di implementazione del progetto selezionata dal Ministero dell'Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del Mare della Repubblica Italiana, il quale ha firmato un Memorandum d’Intesa e un Piano d’Azione con il Dipartimento dell’Ambiente iraniano in relazione ai temi della cooperazione per la protezione ambientale e lo sviluppo sostenibile, in linea con gli impegni intrapresi nell’ambito della Conferenza ONU sui cambiamenti climatici di Parigi del 2015 – COP 21.
La missione ha rappresentato l’avvio delle attività di UNIDO ITPO Italy nel paese, implementate con l’obiettivo di supportare il governo iraniano nel potenziamento della competitività delle aziende locali in Iran attraverso l’identificazione e la promozione di opportunità di investimento e trasferimento tecnologico in specifici settori dell’energia e dell’ambiente, favorendo lo sviluppo sostenibile, la creazione posti di lavoro in loco, ed incoraggiando partnership internazionali in linea con ISID – Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development, e gli Obiettivi di Sviluppo Sostenibile (SDGs) 9 & 13, riguardanti lo sviluppo industriale inclusivo ed innovativo e l’azione per il clima.
UNIDO ITPO Italy, con il supporto dell’Ufficio Regionale dell’UNIDO a Teheran, ha incontrato una serie di istituzioni, associazioni, centri di ricerca e rappresentanti del settore privato operanti nelle aree di interesse del progetto su Teheran e Isfahan, con il fine di raccogliere informazioni di prima mano da stakeholder locali e diffondere dettagli in relazione alle finalità e le attività del progetto. Tra le numerose controparti locali incontrate dallo staff di UNIDO ITPO Italy, è importante menzionare i meeting con il Ministero per l’Industria e il Commercio; il Dipartimento dell’Ambiente; l’Organizzazione per l’Efficienza Energetica dell’Iran (SABA); l’Organizzazione per l’Investimento, l’Assistenza Economica e Tecnica in Iran (OIETAI); il Centro per l’Innovazione e la Cooperazione Tecnologica (CITC); l’Innovation and Properity Fund (IPF); l’Istituto per il Commercio, gli Studi e la Ricerca (ITSR); la Camera di Commercio Internazionale dell’Iran (ICC); la Camera di Commercio Italo-Iraniana, e la Camera di Commercio di Isfahan, solo per citarne solo alcuni.
La missione ha fornito allo staff di UNIDO ITPO Italy l’opportunità di interagire e di rafforzare le relazioni professionali con circa 50 rappresentanti di istituzioni ed associazioni locali, con l’obiettivo di racogliere informazioni utili nella definizione di un piano d’azione per l’implementazione del progetto. Tutti gli stakeholder incontrati durante la missione hanno espresso il loro interesse e la ferma volontà di cooperare con UNIDO ITPO Italy, aprendo la strada ad una collaborazione proficua nell’ambito delle attività previste a beneficio dell’Iran.

Teheran/Isfahan, 21-28 January 2017. UNIDO ITPO Italy has carried out a one-week inception mission to the Islamic Republic of Iran, in order to launch and pave the way for the future implementation of the project entitled “Support to Iran’s SMEs through investment promotion and technology transfer in energy and environment”. This project is implemented by UNIDO ITPO Italy in coordination with the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding and a Plan of Action with the Iranian Department of Environment on cooperation for environmental protection and sustainable development, pursuing the commitments undertaken at the COP 21 Conference on Climate Change.
The objective of the mission was to start the inception phase of the project, that aims to support Iranian government in upgrading and strengthening the competitiveness of the industrial SMEs in Iran by identifying and promoting sustainable investment and technology transfer opportunities in selected energy and environment sectors, supporting sustainable development, local job creation and fostering international partnerships in alignment with ISID – Inclusive and Sustainable Industrial Development and SDGs 9 & 13 on inclusive and innovative industrial development and climate action.
UNIDO ITPO Italy, with the support of the UNIDO Regional Office in Teheran, carried out a series of meetings with relevant institutions, associations, research centers and representatives of the private sector operating in the areas of interest of the project in Tehran and Isfahan in order to gather first-hand information from involved local stakeholders and disseminate information on the project’s objective and activities. Among the numerous local counterparts met by UNIDO ITPO Italy staff, it’s worth mentioning the meetings with the Ministry for Industry and Trade; the Department of Environment; the Iran Energy Efficiency Organization (SABA); the Organization for Investment, Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI); the Center for Innovation and Technology Cooperation (CITC); the Innovation and Prosperity Fund; the Institute for Trade, Studies and Research (ITSR); the Iran International Chamber of Commerce (ICC); the Iran Italy Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Commerce of Isfahan, among others.
The mission provided to UNIDO ITPO Italy staff the opportunity to interact and strengthen working relations with around 50 representatives of relevant local institutions and companies and define the road map for the project implementation. All the stakeholders met during the mission expressed their interest and strong will to cooperate with UNIDO ITPO Italy, paving the way for a fruitful collaboration within the project’s planned activities.
