Lorenza Cavalli
Quando il dubbio si sospende
When doubt is suspended
Lorenza Cavalli's solo exhibition opens on September 25th in the space designed by Manuel Roncoroni in Vigatto, Il Capanno . The exhibition focuses on light as the guiding thread of a journey that unites art, matter, and transformation.
Parma, September 10, 2026 | For many years, Lorenza Cavalli has presented her work through various mediums. On the one hand, contemporary art; on the other, the personal transformation journeys developed through Il Sognatore® and, subsequently, Constellazioni Identitarie® .
Today those paths find a single narrative.
The solo exhibition that will open on Friday, September 25th at Il Capanno di Vigatto, just outside Parma, represents the first public chapter of this new story.
An exhibition that brings together not only works, but all of his research.
"There's a space where doubt is suspended. That's where my works, my work with people, and everything I create come from. For a long time, I felt the need to protect these two worlds, almost as if they had to remain separate. Today, I know this isn't the case. Art and the paths of transformation speak the same language. The tools may change, but the source is the same," says Lorenza Cavalli.
This awareness also gives rise to the artist's new communication path, which identifies the Source as the common origin of his research and light as the thread that makes it visible.
The works on display primarily belong to the Punti Luce series , alongside several others in which matter and light interact. This approach ideally runs through his entire production, from the sails of his early figurative period to the Material Abstracts, up to his more recent salvaged works, where time itself becomes the material and ingredient of his artistic creation.
"Light, both physical and emotional, is the thread that runs through all my research. In it, I explore the alliance between the visible and the invisible, allowing matter to make perceptible what is normally invisible," concludes Lorenza Cavalli.
It's no coincidence that this new beginning finds its home at Capanno , the creative space conceived by graphic designer Manuel Roncoroni in a former industrial warehouse once used for tomato processing and now transformed into a laboratory for contemporary art, design, and research. A place that preserves the memory of its history while continually opening itself to new expressive possibilities.
The choice of this space engages profoundly with Lorenza Cavalli's poetics. While the Capanno breathes new life into a place of industrial memory, the artist's works transform time, wear, and imperfection into essential elements of their own beauty.
The opening will be accompanied by a public conversation between Lorenza Cavalli and Marisandra Lizzi , journalist, author, and creator of Ritratto Narrativo , who in recent months has accompanied the artist on a journey of reinterpretation of her research. It will be a dialogue on light, the Source, and the invisible thread that connects her works to journeys of personal transformation, offering the public a new perspective on her work.
