State of the Net è la conferenza internazionale dedicata allo stato dell’arte di internet. È stata fondata nel 2008 da Beniamino Pagliaro, Paolo Valdemarin e Sergio Maistrello. È considerata una delle occasioni chiave in Italia per comprendere l’impatto della rete sulla società e sull’economia, e per immaginare i percorsi futuri. Giunta nel 2015 alla quinta edizione, si è tenuta finora a Udine (2008) e a Trieste (2012, 2013, 2014). Cresciuta negli anni in qualità e in dimensione internazionale, dal 2014 la conferenza si tiene completamente in lingua inglese. All’ultima edizione hanno preso parte oltre 1.000 partecipanti, mentre altri 2.500 utenti unici hanno seguito la conferenza attraverso il live streaming.

State of the Net is a (free) conference which tries to capture the state of art of the internet in Italy and in the world, considering its impact on our society. SotN is a key meeting for the italian industry and tech community, as it investigates dynamics and opportunities in the current digital scenario.

SotN’s fifth edition will take place on October 4-5, 2015 at UniCredit Pavilion in Milan (Italy). Previous editions took place in 2014, 2013, 2012 in Trieste and in 2008 in Udine. So far we have received great appreciations.

We are proud to gather each year the most relevant opinion makers, entrepreneurs and journalists from Italy, Europe and the United States. The format of the conference is based on keynotes setting themes which are then discussed in open conversations with experts and all the attendees in the main room. English is the working language.

State of the Net is created by Beniamino Pagliaro, Paolo Valdemarin and Sergio Maistrello. Members of its steering committee are among the most experienced experts in Italy and Europe.
