FAIR AND DESIGN: HERE IS THE GIACOMO BLACK EDITION

After last year’s success, the "Giacomo" truffle brush, created by Gufram and Job Smeets, is introduced in a new limited black edition

The collaboration between Gufram, the Italian design brand recognized all over the world for its pop and radical approach, and the Ente Fiera del Tartufo Bianco d'Alba, continues in 2021 after the great success of last year. As part of the Alba White Truffle Kit initiative - which every year invites a design company to design and manufacture a product for truffles -, Gufram presents a new limited edition of the GIACOMO truffle brush, coming from the disruptive creativity of Job Smeets, artist and designer whose production is characterized by a visionary experimentation capable of going beyond the disciplines.

The first version of GIACOMO - a sculptural nose with a 24-karat gold finish made by master goldsmiths with the most innovative techniques of high-end jewelry - is thus enriched by the GIACOMO Black Edition, available in only 100 pieces. The plastic aesthetic of the object is further amplified by its monochrome: the surface in fact has a finish made with a galvanic treatment in ruthenium (a very rare and resistant metal), while the brush - designed following the performance principles disclosed by the National Center Truffle Studies - features completely black horsehair bristles. 

Job Smeets, an avant-garde and counter-current artist, has chosen the iconic image of the "nose" to evoke, on the one hand, that olfactory experience which, anticipating the pleasure of taste, is the very essence of the Alba White Truffle, and on the other hand, to pay homage to the "flair" of Giacomo Morra, creator of the Alba White Truffle Fair and promoter of its famous success all over the world. GIACOMO therefore is not just any nose, but is precisely that of Giacomo Morra, a nose that, through a meticulous research work among archive photographs, has been perfectly reproduced. 

This project once again underlines the revolutionary energy of Gufram, its ability to experiment without limits in full radical spirit, bringing together a strongly international vocation and an indissoluble link with the specificity of the territory to which it belongs.
