TRUFFLE, WINE AND SPORT

Tennis and Golf, as well as a series of events related to the world of wine, will be the corollary to this 91st edition of the Fair

Signature cuisine, but not only: to enrich the schedule of this 91st edition, enhancing the most precious of the fruits of the earth, the International Alba White Truffle Fair brings together the two declinations linked to the world of wine and sport, presenting the events of Wine, Truffle and Sport.

TRUFFLE AND WINE

Waiting for the Global Conference on Wine Tourism, which in 2022 will see Alba as the world capital of wine tourism, hosting the forum promoted by UNWTO, the United Nations agency that deals with the promotion of sustainable tourism, there are several events that will see his majesty the Alba White Truffle protagonist together with wineries of absolute excellence.

Beyond the consolidated partnership with the Alta Langa DOCG Consortium and the Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe and Dogliani Consortium, this year the world of Champagne will make its debut at the Fair.

Among the other "firsts", on Saturday October 30th "Barolo en Primeur" is scheduled, a charity competition - a unique event in Italy, organized by the Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo Foundation, together with the CRC Donare Foundation and in collaboration with the Consortium di Tutela Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe and Dogliani - in support of social projects, in Italy and abroad: each one of these projects will be paired with 15 barriques still in the ageing process. The barriques, obtained from Nebbiolo grapes from Barolo, will be donated to the major supporters of the planned non-profit projects: the event will be held in the scenic location of the Castle of Grinzane and will be conducted as an auction, organized in collaboration with Christie's and connected live with New York, where Antonio Galloni, the world-famous wine critic and CEO of Vinous, will be present.

Each barrique will fill about 300 bottles, numbered and marked singularly with a label created ad hoc by the internationally renowned Italian artist Giuseppe Penone. An NFT of the Antonio Galloni's review will be made and attached to each barrel. An unprecedented, limited edition in support of non-profit organizations and in favor of projects ranging from health to research, arts and culture, social inclusion and the protection of the Italian cultural heritage.

TRUFFLE AND SPORT

The bond between the Alba White Truffle and the world of sport is also strengthened, with the precious underground mushroom starring at the ATP Finals in Turin, which from November 14th to 21st will see the elite of world tennis participate in the prestigious tournament that this year will be held in Piedmont.

The precious underground mushroom - flagship of regional production and a link between Turin and the Langhe, Monferrato and Roero calling for an increasingly integrated tourist offer - will be the star during the most important gastronomic events enriching the days of the tournament. The holders of the ATP finals tickets will also have free access to the Alba World Truffle Market, and they will be able to participate in special experiences of sensory analysis of the truffle, conducted by the judges of the National Center for Truffle Studies.

The program of sporting events related to the Alba White Truffle also provides this year - in partnership with the Consortium for the Protection of Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Dogliani and the Alta Langa DOCG Consortium - two golf competitions, one on October 23rd and 24th at the Margara Golf Club, in Fubine, in the Alessandria area, and one on November 27th and 28th at the Olgiata Golf Club in Rome, reinforcing the winning combination of Alba White Truffle, great Piedmontese wines and the top Golf tournaments.
