We've tried the Google Glass

Sandro Parisi
Wearable devices are one of the strongest emerging trends worldwide, and Google glass is a fundamental part of this trend. Use them open your mind to unbelievable scenarios, having the perception to enhance your sensory organs like in a science fiction film. In customer service they can be used both on agent side, to enhance their capabilities for example integrated with real time speech analytics tools, or on the customer side to provide a seamless customer journey that match physical and virtual life.

I’ve found Google Glass highly innovative as well as quite useless in relation to the current technological period. There are still few features and, for sure, must be found the killer app yet, but I’m pretty sure that with an hardware enhancement (for instance, images displayed direclty on lenses) together with lower prices they will become popular.

Probably too innovative technology for the time being

Underperforming and unconfortable for what I’ve tryied to do. But  couple of use cases come to my mind:
  • Surgeons can access patient data realtime without any hands usage.
  • Mechanicals can see, always in realtime, the engine data

I loved the image resolution and accuracy of the touch.
I did not appreciate the usability.
I had the impression of a product with great potential but not fully expressed yet

Today the google glass seems to be a new good idea that needs some developments and enhancement.
I’ve found some difficulties using the glass small screen (i.e. looking at a picture on the screen) and for the overheating of the glass.
I believe that with targeted development in a near future, the glass can overtake smartwatch and be useful in everyday life.

My experience with glass is “a very interesting concept in progress”.  Wearing glasses is like tasting the future: you can live a real digital life thanks to augmented reality where body perceptions are enhanced by digital experience in a seemless and bodily integrated manner. It’s like having configurable super powers. As a concept it now has some limits: Super powers are now few available apps and the overall stability hasn’t reached a production grade. Waiting for next beta…
