UN PROTOCOLLO D'INTESA È STATO SOTTOSCRITTO DURANTE LA MISSIONE DI UNIDO ITPO ITALY IN MYANMAR
Yangon-Mandalay-Mogok, 15-21 Novembre 2017 - UNIDO ITPO Italy ha assistito l'Associazione Italiana, Assogemme, appartenente al gruppo Confidustria e attiva nel settore delle pietre preziose, durante una visita d’affari in Myanmar. La missione rientra nel quadro del progetto finanziato dal Ministero Italiano per lo Sviluppo Economico "Supporting Myanmarese SMEs through investment promotion and technology transfer". Essa ha fornito la possibilità di approfondire i contatti già stabiliti in un precedente study tour tenutosi in Italia lo scorso luglio, in occasione del quale rappresentanti del MGJEA hanno partecipato a numerosi incontri a Vicenza e Rimini.
Più precisamente, la missione in Myanmar ha avuto lo scopo di valutare le potenziali sinergie tra le due parti nel settore, a partire dalla formazione professionale alla certificazione di laboratorio, fino alla sottoscrizione di un protocollo etico che attesti la qualità dell’intera catena di distribuzione di gemme del Myanmar.
La delegazione ha altresì avuto l’opportunità di incontrare i dipartimenti del MGJEA di Yangon, Mandalay e Mogok e di visitare in particolare i siti minerari di Mogok.
Tra i risultati conseguiti dalla missione, particolare rilievo ricopre la sottoscrizione del Memorandum d’Intesa tra MGJEA e Assogemme, volto a favorire lo scambio di conoscenze tecniche e umane, nonché la pubblicità delle attività congiunte.
UNIDO ITPO Italy supporterà tutte le attività connesse all’implementazione dell’accordo, quali ad esempio le visite delle delegazioni del Myanmar durante le esposizioni in Italia e la negoziazione del protocollo etico nel settore delle gemme.
UNIDO ITPO ITALY AND ASSOGEMME IN MYANMAR TO IMPLEMENT PARTNERSHIPS IN THE GEMS SECTOR
Yangon-Mandalay-Mogok, 15th - 21st November 2017 - UNIDO ITPO Italy supported a mission on gems sector in Myanmar, assisting Assogemme, the Italian association on gems belonging to Confindustria. The mission, which is part of the project "Supporting Myanmarese SMEs through investment promotion and technology transfer", funded by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, has been organized as a follow-up of a similar study tour held in Italy in July, that counted on the participation of MGJEA representatives in different meetings in Vicenza and Rimini.
The mission was aimed at discussing potential joint synergies in the sector, starting from training, to certification and laboratories, as well as an ethic protocol that could certificate the entire gems supply chain of Myanmar.
The delegation had the opportunity to meet MGJEA sections of Yangon, Mandalay and Mogok, as well as to visit Mogok mining sites. The mission reached a relevant output, such as an MoU between MGJEA and Assogemme, aimed at including knowledge and technological exchanges as well as the promotion of visibility of joint activities.
UNIDO ITPO Italy will support further activities linked to this agreement, such as the incoming of Myanmarese delegations to exhibition in Italy or next missions in the Country to study an ethic protocol that concerns gems sector.
