London, November 18th, 2014 – iPress is part of the delegation of 29 Italian startups selected by Italia Startup, the association representing the ecosystem of young innovative enterprises in our country, to take part in London in Unbound Digital, the event connecting over 800 entrepreneurs, investors and business leaders with digital startup ecosystems from all over the world.

iPress is an innovative startup that solves the problems related to information overload. Thanks to a single digital platform you can now, through custom filters, obtain from the web, from social networks, through printed media, radio, TV and books, all the information that is relevant to your areas of interest, finding out at the same time who are the influencers for each sector and enjoying facilitated interaction with them. As of today over 20,000 Italian influencers haven been mapped, including journalists, bloggers, communicators and speaker at events, together with more than 4,000 newspapers and blogs and thousands of companies, institutions and events.

“It seemed to me that iPress was much needed in 2000, when I realized, for the first time, that it would be a good idea not to stuff the inboxes of our colleagues in the press, by launching a digital platform that would match the interests of journalists with relevant topics in the news - said Marisandra Lizzi, Founder of iPress - I admit it was early. ‘Too early for the technology involved, too late for easy loans,’, in the words of Emanuele Levi, who at the time was part of Pino Venture and today is part of 360 Capital. In 2010, with Stefano Ubaldi, a developer, and Mauro Sarina, a creative visionary, we developed the first Italian social network specializing in the relationship between PRs and journalists. The most important moment for iPress took place in Silicon Valley, where we realized that we were following the right path, but that we had to review our business model. So this is how we went from being a social network to being a platform managing news and social networks. Today iPress is a useful product for solving spam-related issues and, even more importantly, for solving problems related to information overload in the world of communications and information. And not just in Italy: the platform, in fact, works in any language and as far as our international development we’re followed by the Italian business angel Alberto Giusti.”

Traditional communication models have been reversed, passing disruptively from the logic on which spam is based, one-to-all, to the marketplace logic, where everyone can search and receive the news that really interests them. iPress is open to journalists, bloggers and media professionals, to those who work in marketing and PR agencies, to marketing managers, web content managers and to those who manages social media for personalities, institutions, companies.

“We want to show that influence can’t be measured only online, that traditional media must also be taken into consideration - concluded Marisandra – We’re working on a Klout that crosses the digital media (online newspapers and blogs) with the traditional media (radio, TV, printed newspapers) that generate very significant influence. We offer the opportunity to personally manage relationships with the influencers who are our customers - brands such as Amazon, Showroomprive, the Digital Innovation Observatories at the Polytechnic of Milano, Netcomm, Italia Startup, Decisyon (the Italian startup that has received the largest amount of funding ever in our country) and many other companies. We’re finding new ways to engage influencers from radio, television, and even from the pages of a book, thanks to social reading and to the synchronization of all writers, journalists, presenters, influencers that we find every day and map in our platform. We recently entered the sales phase in our country, but we’ve already had many inquiries from international customers who ask us to repeat in English, German, Spanish, French what we already do for them in Italian. For this reason we are very happy to have been selected by Italia Startup to attend the Unbound Digital in London.”

The concept behind iPress was first developed in 2000 by Marisandra Lizzi, who in 2010 met the platform’s developer, Stefano Ubaldi. In 2010, together with two other founders, a first version of the platform was developed and in 2012 it was incubated in Silicon Valley for a period of mentoring that opened up a new pathway for the startup. iPress has become a solution for social fatigue, information overload and spam, in the field of communication and information. The platform represents a sort of link between analog and digital media, capable of integrating them in a single online environment. From spam to advanced news clouds. iPress is a platform allowing users to manage news and social networks, by minimizing time-consuming and low added value work and improving communication and engagement potential with relevant influencers in areas of interest. We filter the right influencers for each area of interest from radio, TV, printed media and the web, allowing users to send them information and to develop targeted engagement. We're working on an influence index that combines digital and printed information. Influence levels can’t be measured only online. The market test in Italy was completed in 2014 and now the startup is looking for investors for the development of the platform at an international level, which is planned to take place in 2015.
