Claudio is a lawyer and senior manager in the EY Indirect Tax Team in Zurich and has over 10 years experience with Swiss and European Value Added Taxes (VAT). Claudio has specialized in advising national and international companies of all sizes and industries in e-commerce related tax questions, in particular VAT and customs, withholding tax and fixed establishment issues. He has also led several projects for the European Commission in this area. Prior to joining EY, Claudio worked for the Swiss Federal Tax Administration and was vice-president of the OECD’s working group on consumption taxes, dealing among others with taxing the digital economy. Claudio is a lecturer at the University of Lausanne for VAT and author of numerous tax publications and a regular speaker at VAT events in Switzerland and abroad; he is also a member of the VAT competence center of EXPERTSuisse.
