Artistic Director, Choreographer, Dancer
Simona Cieri, dancer and choreographer, is the founder of the MOTUS Company and the Artistic director of the International Centre of Art.
In more than 30 years of activities with the MOTUS Company, Simona Cieri creates choreographies for more than 100 plays rich in collaboration with composers and artists worldwide.
She embraced the search for new vocabularies where body language is used to treat arguments of social impact.
She receives a National Prize for Choreography (1994), two International Critics’ Awards (in 2006 and 2008), a National Lifetime Achievement Award (2022), an Award for Commitment against violence on Women (2022) and two Official Praises of the President of Italian Republic (in 2009 and 2010).
Since 2009 she is the artistic director of the Move Off Festival, international contemporary dance festival.
Simona Cieri is also the author of an original methodology for dance teaching. She teaches in private and public schools and Universities in Italy and abroad.
