WEIC - Women Entrepreneurs International Conference CUBA
L'Avana, 20-21 Aprile 2018 - UNIDO ITPO Italy ha organizzato e preso parte al “WEIC - III Workshop Internazionale per Donne Imprenditrici”, che ha avuto luogo dal 20 al 21 Aprile 2018 al Palacio de las Convenciones all’Avana. L’evento è stato organizzato, in associazione con AIDDA, Associazione Imprenditrici e Donne Italiane Dirigenti D'Azienda, ed il Grupo Empresarial PALCO, con il supporto dell’Ambasciata di Cuba in Italia e della Regione Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Il Workshop Internazionale ha fornito una piattaforma di alto valore per i più di 90 partecipanti, provenienti prevalentemente da Cuba e Italia, per creare un dialogo produttivo tra donne dirigenti, professioniste, scienziate, artiste, artigiane ed agricoltrici locali. L’evento ha offerto l’opportunità di condividere le proprie esperienze sul ruolo della donna in relazione a educazione, formazione e attività lavorative e per discutere soluzioni per migliorare la partecipazione delle donne e creare condizioni per una crescita inclusiva e sostenibile. Inoltre, l’evento ha contribuito a rafforzare i network di donne nel mondo fornendo uno spazio pubblico per parlare apertamente delle loro esperienze, aspirazioni e bisogni. Il panel tenuto da UNIDO ITPO Italy sul tema “UNIDO – Promozione dell’emancipazione delle donne per uno sviluppo industriale inclusivo e sostenibile” ha delineato le attività dell’UNIDO per migliorare l’ambiente economico per le donne imprenditrici attraverso interventi di esperti del suo staff e di un discorso della Direttrice di UNIDO ITPO Italy, Diana Battaggia. Durante il secondo giorno, sono stati organizzati con successo dei corsi di formazioni e incontri B2B per condividere le ‘best practices’, esperienze individuali e fare spazio per future collaborazioni.
Durante la missione, UNIDO ITPO Italy ha avuto incontri con rappresentanti del Ministero per il Commercio e gli Investimenti Esteri (MINCEX) ed il Ministero dell’Industria (MINDUS) Cubani per discutere della situazione del progetto congiunto di supporto agli imprenditori Cubani in settori come l’agroindustria, in particolare quello degli imballaggi. Altri incontri hanno coinvolto il ‘Centro de Superación del Comercio Exterior y la Inversión Extranjera’, riguardo a corsi di formazione per imprenditori, e l’‘Oficina del Historiador’, a proposito del lancio del progetto Heritage4 Cuba.
Infine, un altro punto focale di azione di UNIDO ITPO Italy è stato il supporto ad una delegazione del Friuli Venezia Giulia all’Avana, con lo scopo di valutare potenziali collaborazioni tra FVG e Cuba nei settori del restauro, marittimo e della salute. Il risultato è stato quello di creare future prospettive di collaborazione tra il cluster marittimo industriale MARE FVG ed i servizi locali a Cuba per il loro miglioramento, inoltre dei rappresentanti del Area Portuale Marlin Marina Hemingway sono stati invitati dai delegati in Friuli Venezia Giulia per presentare le loro opportunità di investimento nei porti Cubani. Questa missione ha rappresentato un’importante opportunità per migliorare le relazioni bilaterali tra Italia e Cuba e stabilire una cooperazione fruttuosa tra gli attori economici ed istituzionali del Friuli Venezia Giulia e del Paese.
WEIC - Women Entrepreneurs International Conference CUBA
Havana, 20-21 April 2018 - UNIDO ITPO Italy organized and participated at the “WEIC - III International Workshop for Women Entrepreneurs”, held from 20 to 21 April 2018 at the Palacio de las Convenciones in Havana, Cuba. The workshop was organized in association with AIDDA, Italian Association of Women Entrepreneurs and Executives, and Grupo Empresarial PALCO and with the support of the Embassy of Cuba in Italy and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.
The International workshop provided a valuable platform for more than 90 participants, mainly from Cuba and Italy, to create a productive dialogue between women executives, professionals, scientists, artists, artisans and local farmers. The event offered an opportunity to exchange experiences on the role of women in relation to education, training and work activities and to discuss solutions on how to improve economic participation of women and thereby create conditions for inclusive and sustainable growth. Furthermore, the event strengthened women’s networks globally by giving a public space for women’s advocacy to give voice to their own experience, aspirations and needs. UNIDO ITPO Italy held a Panel on the theme “UNIDO - Promotion of women empowerment for sustainable and inclusive industrial development” explaining the activities of UNIDO to improve the business environment for women entrepreneurs through the contribution of experts of the staff and a key speech from the Head of the Office, Ms. Diana Battaggia. During the second day, training courses and BtoB meetings to share best practices, individual experiences and create possibilities for future collaboration were successfully organized.
During the mission, UNIDO ITPO Italy held meetings with representatives of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (MINCEX) and the Ministry of Industry of Cuba (MINDUS) to discuss the status of the joint project to support Cuban entrepreneurs in sectors such as agroindustry, in particular in the packaging area. Additional meetings involved the ‘Centro de Superación del Comercio Exterior y la Inversión Extranjera’, and the ‘Oficina del Historiador’ regarding the launch of the project Heritage4 Cuba.
Finally, another key action of UNIDO ITPO Italy was to support an institutional delegation from Friuli Venezia Giulia Region in La Habana, with the aim to evaluate potential collaborations between FVG and Cuba in the restoration, maritime-cruise and health sectors. As a result, basis was laid for a future collaboration between the maritime industrial cluster MARE FVG and local services in Cuba for their improvement and representatives from Marlin Marina Hemingway port were invited to Friuli Venezia Giulia to present the investment and business opportunities in the Cuban Marinas. This mission represented an important opportunity to enhance bilateral relationships between Cuba and Italy in order to establish fruitful cooperation synergies with economic and institutional actors of Friuli Venezia Giulia Region and Cuba.
