UNIDO ITPO Italy Mentor in occasione dei Selection Days di SBC FoodTech a Roma
Roma, 14-16 Settembre 2017 - Nell’ambito delle iniziative implementate dall’ufficio a seguito delle due edizioni del Premio Internazionale sull’agribusiness, ed in linea con il focus di UNIDO sul nexus startup/innovazione/giovani, ITPO Italy ha partecipato come Mentor in occasione dei Selection Days di StartupBootCamp FoodTech, un acceleratore basato a Roma e focalizzato sull’agro/foodtech che supporta i fondatori di startup in early-stage a sviluppare i propri progetti offrendo loro accesso diretto a una rete internazionale di mentor, partner e investitori nel loro settore.
Durante la tre giorni dell’evento, dal 14 al 16 settembre, circa 100 mentor altamente qualificati, tra cui ITPO Italy, hanno valutatato i primi 20 team fra le centinaia di applicazioni ricevute da tutto il mondo allo scopo di selezionare 9 startup ad alto potenziale di crescita che operano in tutti i segmenti della catena alimentare, dall’agricoltura ai sostituti alimentari e ai droni, con l’obiettivo di essere coinvolti nel programma di accelerazione di 3 mesi a Roma.
A seguito del processo di valutazione, sono state selezionate 2 startup italiane, 2 dall’Olanda, 2 dagli Stati Uniti, e ancora, Vietnam, Israele e Germania (maggiori dettagli al link che segue https://www.startupbootcamp.org/blog/2017/09/startupbootcamp-foodtech-announces-2017-cohort-foodtech-startups/)
Il percorso di accelerazione partirà il prossimo 16 ottobre e si chiuderà con il demo day fissato per il prossimo 25 gennaio.
Gli organizzatori, una partnership che vede coinvolti, tra gli altri, Gambero Rosso, LVenture Group, Cisco, M3 Investimenti, investiranno nelle startup 15mila euro di capitale e fino a 35mila euro in "convertible note". Ai finanziamenti in denaro si aggiungono spazi di lavoro per sei mesi, servizi tecnologici e di tutoraggio vari e l’accesso ad un network di investitori e fondi di venture capital oltre che mentor selezionati tra cui UNIDO ITPO Italy, specialmente per le startup coinvolte in tecnologie applicabili nei paesi in via di sviluppo.

Rome, 14-16 September 2017 - Within the framework of the activities carried out by the office in following up the International Awards on Agribusiness and in line with the UNIDO focus on the nexus startup/innovation/youth, ITPO Italy partecipated as Mentor to the Selection Days of StartupBootCamp FoodTech, an accelerator based in Rome and focused on agro/foodtech that support early-stage tech founders to rapidly scale their companies by providing direct access to an international network of the most relevant mentors, partners, and investors in their industry.
During this 3-day event, from 14 to 16 September, around 100 highly qualified mentors, including ITPO Italy, coached, evaluated and ranked the top 18 teams out of the hundreds applications received from all around the world with the aim of selecting 9 high-growth tech startups operating within all the segments of the food chain from agriculture to food substitutes and drones, to be involved in the dedicated 3 months acceleration program in Rome.
Following the evaluation process, 2 Italian startups, 2 from Netherlands, 2 from the United States, and others from Vietnam, Israel and Germany were selected (more in detail at the following link https://www.startupbootcamp.org/blog/2017/09/startupbootcamp-foodtech-announces-2017-cohort-foodtech-startups/)
The acceleration path will start next October 16th and will end with the demo day scheduled for next January 25th in Rome.
The organizers, a partnership that involves, among others, Gambero Rosso, LVenture Group, Cisco, M3 Investments, will invest 15,000 euros in capital and up to 35,000 euros in “convertible notes”. Additionally, StartupBootCamp will offer to the selected startups work space, technological and tutoring services, and access to a network of investors and selected mentors including UNIDO ITPO Italy, namely for advising startups involved in technologies applicable in developing countries.
