Vision Engineering Italy srl is an innovative Italian firm founded in 2014 by two brothers who have been successfully working in the field of ophthalmology and biophotonics for 15 years. The company has been registered in the special section of the Chamber of Commerce in Rome as INNOVATIVE SME since March 2016.

Our mission statement is developing innovative products to personalise the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders with significant social impact. The company's activities have been mainly devoted to the research and development of inventive products for the diagnosis and treatment of corneal diseases; the main activities include:

• The development of a theranostic UV-A device, CHROMO4VIS, for providing personalized corneal cross-linking treatment in order to halt keratoconus progression and improving visual performance.
• The development and commercialization of an ultra-compact UV-A device, VETUVIR, in combination with VISIOFLAVIN and OZODROP ophthalmic solutions, for the treatment of infectious keratitis and septic corneal ulcers in veterinary medicine.

Chromo4Vis is the first theranostic medical device in ophthalmology. It performs the personalized treatment of keratoconus, eliminating the risk of corneal transplantation.

Keratoconus is a degenerative disease of the cornea and is the first cause of corneal transplantation in young people in the world. Thanks to patented technology, Chromo4Vis determines the efficacy of corneal cross-linking in real time and optimize the treatment outcome halting the progression of keratoconus in every patient. The device assists the surgeon to personalize the operation thanks to the real time image processing and analysis of the images taken from the cornea under treatment.
