Entertainment, culture and fun between cooking shows, encounters and sensory experiences, with a great protagonist on stage: the Alba White Truffle 



The Alba White Truffle meets the excellent products of international cuisine, for a series of high-profile events, in which entertainment, culture and great sensory experiences come together, giving life to a calendar worthy of being  discovered.

 

ALBA TRUFFLE SHOW

To enrich every weekend of the Fair, next to the World Market of the Alba White Truffle, the meeting with the "Alba Truffle Show" returns. It’s a container for the numerous events – with strictly limited admission, in full compliance with anti-Covid measures, to ensure maximum safety for the participants - based in the Sala Beppe Fenoglio, inside the prestigious location of the Cortile della Maddalena. The Alba Truffle Show is both culture and entertainment.

 

Dedicated to true gourmets, the Foodies Moments are the cooking shows of the Alba Truffle Show. They celebrate the marriage between great cooking and the Alba White Truffle; the audience will move inside the taste, luxury and beauty of the kitchens of starred chefs as well as those run by chefs from Langhe, Roero and Monferrato - to discover the secrets of the most renowned national and international chefs who, for the occasion, will devote their genius to tailor-made dishes based on the Alba White Truffle.

 

The calendar of events is very rich, with double encounters every Saturday (at 11.00 and 18.00) and Sunday (at 18.00): the chefs Gabriele Boffa, Federico Gallo, Davide Caranchini, Pasquale Laera, Giancarlo Morelli, Riccardo Bassetti will delight guests, Giuseppe Iannotti, Luca Zecchin, Ugo Alciati, Matias Perdomo, Flavio Costa, Andrea Larossa, Ivano Ricchebono and Federico Belluco (both on November 1st, at 11.00 and 18.00 respectively), Federico Zanasi, Davide Rangoni, Davide Palluda, Stefano Sforza , Paolo Griffa, Walter Ferretto, Fabio Pisani and Alessandro Negrini, Damiano Nigro, Eugenio Boer, Luigi Taglienti, Marco Sacco, Michelangelo Mammoliti, Enrico Marmo, closing with Christian and Manuel Costardi.

 

The Foodies Moments guests will be welcomed by the Alta Langa DOCG Consortium with a taste of the official sparkling wine of the International Alba White Truffle Fair. To accompany the glass of Classic Method, the Consortium for the Promotion and Protection of Prosciutto Crudo di Cuneo DOP, once again the partner of the Fair also for the 2021 edition, will offer all participants another taste of this Piedmontese excellence. Prosciutto Crudo di Cuneo DOP will also be the protagonist of the Taste Workshops together with GranoPiemonte bread (contributed by Confartigianato Cuneo), Piedmont IGP hazelnut from Langhe (contributed by the Hazelnut Fair and Typical Products of Alta Langa) and the Menabrea Beer, proposed in combination with the best Botalla cheeses (contributed by the Menabrea brewery).

 

Each cooking show is translated into English to allow the international public to fully participate in this immersive opportunity in the world of haute cuisine.

 

WINE TASTING EXPERIENCE

On the wine front, you cannot miss the encounter with the Wine Tasting Experience®, organized in collaboration with "Strada del Barolo and great wines of Langa": an original tasting formula dedicated to the discovery of the extraordinary wine heritage of this area, among which the long-aging red wines shine, standard bearers of Italian enology in the world.

Every weekend, highly experienced winemakers and sommeliers will guide participants on a journey through the varieties of wines of the area, revealing their characteristics and amenities.

The Wine Tastings will be held in Italian and English every Saturday and Sunday, at 3.30pm and 5.30pm.

 

ATELIER OF FRESH PASTA

Among the confirmed encounters of this year, Saturdays will offer the Atelier della Pasta Fresca, where you can learn the processing secrets of a specialty that is much more than a food: fresh pasta. This is an ancient ritual handed down to generation after generation, once a moment of celebration and conviviality and today synonymous with refinement. It will come back to life thanks to “I Tre Chef”, Albagnulot & Co. - curated by Fulvio Siccardi - every Saturday at 3.00 pm.

 

CREATIVE MOMENTS

Absolutely new this year: the Creative Moments. The City of Alba - together with Bergamo and Parma, the three Italian Unesco Creative Cities for Gastronomy – will be protagonist of a twinning with the other cities that share the same title all over the world. It will be a new way to meet and plan the future together, create and contaminate, entering each other's culture with exclusive cooking shows for the public of the Truffle Fair. These experiential paths, designed to allow visitors to take a journey through the flavors of the whole world, will be bookable every Sunday.

 

It begins with Satoshi Saito (UNESCO Creative City Tsuruoka - Japan), then María Fernanda Buzzeta (UNESCO Creative City Portoviejo - Ecuador), then Süleyman Demirel (UNESCO Creative City Hataj - Turkey) and John Brand (UNESCO Creative City San Antonio - United States America), then again with Angela Sicilia (UNESCO Creative City Belém - Brazil), then Georgia Joufflineau (UNESCO Creative City Paraty - Brazil), Michel Illera Mackoll (Unesco Creative City Popáyan - Colombia), Diana Cervera Navarro (UNESCO Creative City Dénia - Spain) and finally Jose Luis Garcia Rincón (UNESCO Creative City Burgos - Spain).

 

UNUSUAL DINNERS

Three exceptional evenings, in an out-of-the-ordinary scenario, to taste the Alba White Truffle in the best possible way, thanks to the most internationally renowned chefs. The Unusual Dinners will be served at the end of a guided tour of the location chosen to host this incredible gourmet experience.

The first date, Friday October 22nd at the Teatro Sociale “G. Busca "in Alba, is already sold out: star of the evening, chef Giuseppe Iannotti Krug Ambassador, who, after studying computer engineering, devoted himself to the art of cooking, launching a family farm in 2011 just outside Telese, the current Krèsios, today the setting of a gourmet restaurant, equipped with some elegant rooms.


Known and unique throughout Europe for its double structure, consisting of a historic nineteenth-century horseshoe-shaped hall with a modern hall with stalls and gallery and a stage located right in the middle, the Albese Theater will also be the stage for the Friday October 29th encounter with chef Matias Perdomo. Born in Uruguay in 1980, he started in a small Chilean rotisserie, then moved on to French-type catering and to the Paninis restaurant specialized in Italian cuisine, then finally moved to Italy where he became the first chef of the Milanese restaurant Al Pont de Ferr, earning his first Michelin star in 2011. In 2015, after some internships in Spain, he opened his restaurant, Contraste, in Milan, together with fellow adventurers Thomas Piras and Simon Press.

Last event, Friday November 26th, at the Castello di Perno, the Unusual Dinner curated by chef Luigi Taglienti, whose cuisine is based on intuition, sensitivity, the ability to read the raw ingredients and an extraordinary technical savvy. The venue of this Dinner is the manor that was headquarters for the Giulio Einaudi publishing company and working residence for its writers. Since 2012, the Castle has returned to a new life, still a home for cultural events, but at same time renewing and enhancing the estate's historic vocation for the cultivation of vines and vinification.
