On Sunday October 25th Reale Mutua Insurance Company presented the award
in the “T. Bubbio” Council Room of Alba: the prizewinner was a truffle weighing 338 grams

One of the recurring appointments of the International Alba White Truffle Fair, also celebrated in this 90th edition, is the bestowing of the "Reale Truffle" award, the recognition that Reale Mutua Insurance delivers every year to the best truffle gleaned from the hills of Langhe, Roero and Monferrato a few weeks after the inauguration of the event dedicated to the most precious diamond that this territory can yield.

Emanuele Bolla, the Councilor for Tourism and Events, brings the City of Alba’s greetings and welcomes all: "We have chosen to host today's event in the city’s most prestigious Hall, expressing our gratitude to those private individuals, who were the first to believe in the Fair: having you as guests here is our way to acknowledge this”.

The coveted prize was awarded today, Sunday October 25th at 11:00, in Alba at the Municipal Council Hall named after Teodoro Bubbio. The general manager of Reale Group, Luca Filippone, bestowed the prize (decreed after careful analysis by the expert judges of the National Center for Truffle Studies, remembering the late Paolo Stacchini) together with Lorenzo Cavallotto and Massimo Bazzan. the owners of the Reale Mutua Agency of Alba.

Last year, the winner was the merchant Davide Curzietti, from San Marzano Oliveto, a regular guest of the competition who won in 2019 with a Tuber magnatum Pico weighing 591 grams. It was sold to a Japanese buyer named Mr. Taro, who flew to the Land of the Rising Sun with the precious truffle. This year's winner is Laura Robaldo, who discovered a wonderful 338-gram truffle specimen which was honored by the judges of the National Truffle Studies Center - in the words of Davide Cometti - for "its important structure, with great density and compactness. Smooth and round, with a light pearly texture, grown in symbiosis with a poplar, it was chosen for its organoleptic and morphological qualities ". Similar characteristics were mentioned for the truffles unearthed by Marco Ronzano and Davide Curzietti.

My thanks go to Reale Mutua, historic sponsor of the Fair, who has been its partner for 15 years, for this prestigious award as well as for the attention shown on every occasion to the Fair and to the growth of the whole territory. A courageous and flexible Fair, capable of reshaping itself while always having safety and public health as its objective".

In fact, the event provided the opportunity to talk about the telephone medical information service - active 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, also in a foreign language - offered free of charge by Reale Mutua to around 700 accommodation facilities in Langhe and Roero. Through Blue Assistance, a Reale Group company, telephone assistance is guaranteed (by calling the toll-free number 800.030.385 or +39 011.43.89.187 from abroad) to tourists visiting the area as well as to Truffle Fair visitors and to anyone who needs information and advice. Assistance is provided by trained and qualified personnel about the first measures to be taken in the event of an accident or sudden illness. For hospitality facilities in the area it will be possible to activate the service free of charge by December 18th.

This is why we wanted to make this gift to the Fair and to the territory, to offer maximum safety to anyone visiting the Langhe and Roero”, affirm Lorenzo Cavallotto and Massimo Bazzan.
