L'AMBASCIATA D'ETIOPIA VISITA IL CENTRO AGROALIMENTARE ROMANO

Roma, 15 Febbraio 2018 – UNIDO ITPO Italy ha supportato alcuni rappresentati dell’Ambasciata Etiope durante la loro visita al Centro Agroalimentare Roma (C.A.R.), con l’obiettivo di esplorare potenziali sinergie in vista dell’imminente Agro-Industry Investment Forum che si terrà ad Addis Abeba il prossimo Marzo.

Il C.A.R è una delle strutture europee più importanti per la commercializzazione dei prodotti ittici ed ortofrutticoli, unendo processi di produzione, commercio e distribuzione. La loro partecipazione all’Agro-Industry Forum in Etiopia potrebbe essere un primo passo verso una vantaggiosa collaborazione con il paese africano.

La visita è stata particolarmente utile per approfondire diversi aspetti dell’economia etiope, quali la produzione agricola, il livello di meccanizzazione e le questioni logistiche. Inoltre, i rappresentanti dell'ambasciata hanno avuto l'occasione di vedere il funzionamento del polo logistico, uno dei punti di incontro per i grossisti, rivenditori e distributori.

Attualmente, UNIDO ITPO Italy sta promuovendo l’ Agro-Industry Forum tra la comunità imprenditoriale italiana, con l'obiettivo di supportare la strategia dell’Agro-Industrial Park avviata dal governo etiope per favorire la creazione di una filiera agro-industriale.

THE ETHIOPIAN EMBASSY VISITS "CENTRO AGROLIMENTARE ROMANO"

Rome, 15 February 2018 - UNIDO ITPO Italy supported Ethiopian Embassy representatives in their visit in Centro Agroalimentare Roma (C.A.R.), in order to explore potential joint synergies in view of the forthcoming Forum on agro-industry to be held in Addis Ababa in March.

C.A.R. is one of Europe's most important structures for the marketing of fruit, vegetables and fish products, putting together production, trade and distribution processes. Their participation in Ethiopian agro-industrial Forum could be a first step in the framework of a fruitful partnership with this African Country.

The visit was useful to deepen several aspects of Ethiopian economy, such as crop production, the level of mechanization and logistics matters. Moreover, Ethiopian Embassy representatives had the occasion to see the functioning of the logistic hub, a meeting point for wholesalers, retailers and distributors.

UNIDO ITPO Italy is currently promoting the Agro-industrial Forum among the Italian business community, with the aim of supporting the implementation of Integrated Agro-industrial park strategy, carried out by the Ethiopian government to favor the creation of an agro-industry value chain.
